February is one reason we chose to run tours in Tenerife. The weather is pretty consistently nice and warm, if not hot, in Tenerife when we plan trips there – we only plan to run our tours when we believe the weather will be nice – with an average of around 70F (21C).
At lower elevations and around the coast, the weather is generally mild and spring-like. However, Tenerife has many different microclimates, and conditions can vary considerably across the island. It may be warm and sunny by the ocean, while it can be cooler and damp on the island’s north side. Rain is also possible, particularly in the greener northern and mountain areas.
We recommend dressing in layers and being prepared for changing conditions. Bring a waterproof jacket, a warm layer, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Most of the time you’ll be in shorts and T-shirts, no doubt.
And bring a swimsuit.
This is Tenerife—but it’s still February, and it’s still an island with a mountain nearly 12,200 feet high.
