What to Expect on Your Adventure
The hiking possibilities are endless in this spectacular 16,000 square kilometer nature park – it is a literal Disneyland for hikers and nature lovers. Each day we will walk anywhere from 5 – 10 miles (8-16 kilometers) with maybe 500 – 1,500 feet ascent and/or descent. You will see what you came to see and much more! Highlights include Val Badia, Selva Gardena, the Sella Ronda and Val Di Funes.
The Dolomites provide a varied and spectacular hiking experience that can be enjoyed at any age, ability or fitness level. By utilizing the world’s largest ski lift and cable car system (comprising more than 500 lifts), we can avoid big ascents or descents and extend our daily walking range while quickly and easily get to the best views.
A sample itinerary is provided below, although please keep in mind that every tour is different and customized to my guests.
Day One

Your first day is a travel day where we will pick up you up in Bolzano at the Park Laurin Hotel (near the train station) at 2PM and head to our hotel in the heart of the Dolomites. You will enjoy spectacular scenery during this journey.
Days Two & Three

We’ll start each day with a nutritious, delicious and hearty breakfast. We’ll then meet to head off on our hike for the day – and of course each day’s hike is very different! I make sure to select the best trails for your ability and interests and to provide a variety of landscapes and views.
Every few hours on the trail there is a mountain hut (Italian “refugio”) where we can stop for a drink and a bathroom break. Then we’ll walk for a few more hours until we stop for lunch. We usually enjoy lunch while sitting outside on a sunlit terrace with an incredible view and great local food. We continue our hike into the afternoon and usually return to the hotel around 3 to 4pm.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to walk around the village and explore the shops, relax at the hotel spa or pool, and/or sit with a glass of wine and watch life go by in this small Tyrolean village. If you’d like to keep walking, I can point you in the right direction as there are always other trails to explore.
Days Four & Five

On our 4th day we will depart from the hotel and spend the day walking to the mountain lodge where we will spend the night. Don’t worry, we will utilize the cable car system and avoid big ascents and all of your luggage will be transported for you! Upon arrival we will enjoy a fantastic final dinner and be able to enjoy the views and the sunset from “on the mountain”.
On our 5th day we will transport you to Cortina D’Ampezzo in the morning where you have the option to stay in that city for an evening or head off to another part of Italy for your next adventure.
