This adventure involves some driving because we’re connecting the Adriatic coast, Istria, Plitvice, Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, and the Julian Alps, among other places.
On average, you can expect about two hours in the van each day, although some transfer days will be longer and others will involve little or no driving. We have refined our route over many years and know that, based on guest feedback, it’s not too much driving.
We use a private vehicle, keep driving reasonable, and break up longer journeys with interesting stops whenever possible. We are never in a hurry, and safety on the road is our top priority.
Sometimes the drive itself is part of the experience. Beautiful coastal, rural, and mountain roads run through this part of Europe, and we always try to take the scenic route.
Our goal is never to spend most of the day sitting in a van. It’s to use the van to connect the places we want you to experience.
