For most guests, altitude shouldn’t be a significant issue on the trek itself, as we generally remain below 8,000 feet and you’ll already have spent time acclimatizing in Kathmandu at around 4,500 feet. The exception is our helicopter flight to Annapurna Base Camp at 14,500 feet. We’ll only be there briefly, but you’ll certainly notice the thinner air.  Gary, who designed this trek, has considerable altitude experience, including about 50 treks and expeditions in Nepal and 25 treks to over 18,000 feet at Everest Base Camp.

We’ll take things slowly and avoid strenuous walking while we’re there. Most people handle a short visit very well, but altitude affects everyone differently, so if you have a medical condition or concerns about visiting 14,500 feet, please discuss the trip with your physician
