We schedule our Croatia and Slovenia adventures in early June, when we generally expect pleasant walking weather, with typical daytime temperatures around 65–75°F (18–24 °C).  June is also a great time to go before the busy and crowded summer season starts.

But coastal and mountain weather can always surprise us. It may be warm and sunny beside the Adriatic while considerably cooler in the Julian Alps. Rain is always possible, and temperatures can change quickly.

We recommend dressing in layers and being prepared for changing conditions. Bring a waterproof jacket, a warm layer for cooler evenings, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.

And bring a swimsuit. We don’t want you to come all the way to Croatia and Slovenia and miss the chance to jump into the Adriatic—or enjoy one of the lakes or hotel pools.
