The Dolomites of Northern Italy

I have been traveling the world for over 50 years and been a professional mountaineer and a travel guide for 35+ years and I have found an unspoiled Shangri La – the Dolomites of northern Italy – a Disneyland for people who enjoy walking and being among beautiful mountains but who also appreciate nice hotels, great food, history, culture, friendly people and world-renowned hospitality. Recently honored with UNESCO World Heritage Nature Site status, walking the magnificent trails of the Dolomites is by far the best way to experience and appreciate this incredible area.

My guests stay in a fabulous family-run four-star hotel in a beautiful Tyrolean village from where we launch out each morning on daily walks with our hiking poles and a light day pack. We stop for coffee and bathroom breaks at the many mountain lodges (Italian “Refugio”) along the way as well as stopping for gourmet lunches on sunny terraces. There is often the time for strudel and a glass of wine or beer in the afternoon. Walks are chosen for their beauty and diversity and you will definitely experience the best the Dolomites have to offer in this six-day excursion. My tours run most weeks – June through September – the very best months for walking here.

We utilize the extensive cable car system to get up onto the alpine meadows quickly and easily where we can access the best trails and have the best views. People walk at their own pace and altitude is not an issue in the Dolomites. I am considered an authority on the history, culture, geology, geography and the trails of the Dolomites and am a very experienced professional mountain guide having guided over 250 international adventure travel trips including 40 treks and expeditions in the Himalayas and over 100 tours in the Dolomites I am very proud of my perfect safety record. Over the last ten summers I have guided hundreds of clients of all walking abilities and ages safely through the Dolomites and would love to show you and your friends and/or family around this spectacular area and show you one of the most beautiful and unique places on earth.
